The book “the Little Prince” made me fall in love with foxes forever. They are a recurring theme in my dreams and paintings and so I'm sharing "Grace" an 8x8 oil still sitting on my easel.
I found the true meaning of beauty through this book… “One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye." These words from the Fox to the Little Prince made me tear up with joy and gratitude. Even as a young kid I understood what the Fox was saying. There is so much more beneath the surface of anything and everything I would ever encounter and the depth and richness of life would be determined my willingness to open my heart to it.
The boundless heart is what allows us to flow and dance with Life. When I loose my way I forget those beautiful words. An so when in need of reminding, painting a fox allows me to connect with what I know so well to be true. I now have several foxes hanging on my walls keeping an eye out for me and whispering ever so softly : “One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye” , then I am welcomed back into the safety of my heart.
